Tungenes
Tungenes lighthouse is located on Tungeneset in Randaberg municipality in Rogaland county.
The lighthouse was established as a fishing lighthouse in 1828 and got its current location in 1862. The lighthouse was closed down and demanned in 1984. Today, the lighthouse is owned by Randaberg municipality. The staff hous today functions as a lighthouse cafe and is also a much-used rental space.
The Thursday concert series at Tungenes has become particularly popular in the region and offers great concert experiences with quality artists from home and abroad.The lighthouse building is furnished as it was when the lighthouse keeper lived there in the 1930s.
There is an art exhibition in the café building while the outbuilding is used as a teaching room and room for changing exhibitions. There is a large exhibition building 300 meters southeast of the lighthouse. In the autumn of 2024, a pilot exhibition will open there with a maritime science experiment.
