La Coubre

La Coubre Lighthouse is located in La Tremblade, on the North end of the largest estuary of Europe, the Gironde estuary.

After climbing 300 steps in a blue Opal interior, a 360° panorama offers a breathtaking view on La Tremblade’s “Côte Sauvage” and its wonderful beaches, the Coubre forest, the Gironde estuary, and Oléron Island. Continue the visit in the lighthouse museum and discover its history and the equipment needed to keep it functioning. On site: an exhibition room and a shop.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
