haventurm Bremerhaven
The old location was the Outer Elbe near the island Neuwerk, today it is located in the area of the hotel "havenhostel Bremerhaven". Now the three-deck-high lantern head with helicopter landing deck on round tower shaft is standing near the hotel "havenhostel Bremerhaven". From May 1975, the modern lighthouse secured the shallows for the shoals for just 24 years until 1999. This technical monument was due to be scrapped in 2008, but was was rescued by a Bremerhaven entrepreneur and the tower head was brought to Bremerhaven. After the transfer to the non-profit association "Maritimer Denkmalschutz e.V.", the tower is to be rebuilt and used as a leisure event.
