Youghal

Perched on a scenic cliff-edge in picturesque East Cork, Youghal Lighthouse was built in the 18th century. Although not open to the public, the site has a unique history that begins in 1190 when a ‘light tower’ stood on the site of the present tower. The tower as we know it today was built in 1848. The building itself is a listed building and unique in that it is almost in the centre of a town.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
