Vilsandi

Vilsandi Lighthouse was built in 1809 and is the third oldest lighthouse in Estonia. Since 2016, the lighthouse has been equipped with an LED lantern developed in Estonia, specifically tailored to meet the operational needs of Vilsandi Lighthouse’s navigation light. The lighthouse also features a rare weathervane, which was made according to the original and plays a significant role in ventilating the tower. Vilsandi Lighthouse is the westernmost lighthouse in Estonia. Comprehensive renovation works were completed in 2019. The renovation of the lighthouse was based on special conditions drafted by the Heritage Protection Board, for which the building received recognition as a well-renovated cultural monument.
