Saint-Mathieu
An emblematic Finistère landmark, the Saint-Mathieu lighthouse proudly dominates the Pointe Saint-Mathieu site from the top of its perilous cliffs facing the Iroise Sea. This granite giant stands at the heart of a breathtakingly preserved site. Just a few metres away stand the ruins of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery, built on those of an ancient 6th-century abbey: the Abbey of Saint-Mathieu de Fine-Terre. From the parapet walk, some 30 metres up, visitors can enjoy an absolutely exceptional panorama, from the Crozon peninsula to Le Conquet and the Molène archipelago.
