North Foreland
Perched on the cliffs of Kent’s easternmost point, North Foreland Lighthouse has been guiding vessels through the busy English Channel since 1691. Operated by Trinity House, it marks one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes and remains fully operational.
Two former keepers’ cottages, Khina and Lodesman, have been tastefully converted into holiday homes. Just a mile from the vibrant seaside town of Broadstairs, the cottages offer easy access to sandy beaches, coastal walks, and traditional pubs. With sweeping sea views and a location steeped in maritime history, North Foreland provides a perfect coastal retreat for families, walkers, and anyone wishing to experience life beside an iconic working lighthouse.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
