Cromer

Standing proudly on the cliffs above the popular Norfolk seaside town, Cromer Lighthouse has been guiding ships along the east coast since 1833. Operated by Trinity House, the current tower, built in 1833 to replace an earlier light, continues to serve as a vital aid to navigation for vessels in the North Sea.

The lighthouse’s former keepers’ cottages, The Link and Valonia, have been converted into comfortable and characterful holiday homes. The Link is especially unique, with a bedroom set in the base of the lighthouse tower itself. Just a mile from the traditional town of Cromer, the cottages are a 10-minute stroll along the coastal path from shops, pubs, and renowned local seafood. Only 500 yards away, steep steps lead to a sandy beach, while the Royal Cromer 18-hole golf course sits right next door—making this an ideal Norfolk retreat for beach lovers, golfers, and families alike.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
