Anvil Point

Set dramatically on the cliffs within Durlston Country Park near Swanage in Dorset, Anvil Point Lighthouse has been warning mariners of the rocky Purbeck coast since 1881. Still operated by Trinity House, the white tower is a striking landmark along the Jurassic Coast.

The adjoining keepers’ cottages, Rowena and Veronica, now offer comfortable holiday accommodation with unrivalled sea views. Guests can enjoy direct access to coastal paths, explore the nearby Victorian folly of Durlston Castle, or take a short trip into Swanage for shops, beaches, and classic seaside charm. With its wild clifftop setting and links to one of England’s most scenic coastlines, Anvil Point is an unforgettable place to stay.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
