Pendeen

Set high on the rugged cliffs of West Cornwall, Pendeen Lighthouse has guided ships safely along this treacherous stretch of coast since 1900. Built by Trinity House in response to frequent wrecks, the lighthouse still serves as an active aid to navigation. Its former keepers’ cottages, Argus and Solebay, have been carefully converted into welcoming holiday homes. With spectacular sea views and the Atlantic waves crashing below, they offer a dramatic yet comfortable retreat. The cottages sit within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, close to the village of St Just and within easy reach of Cape Cornwall, Land’s End, and the artists’ haven of St Ives. Guests can enjoy walks along the South West Coast Path, discover the region’s mining history, or simply relax and take in the wild beauty of the far west. A stay at Pendeen Lighthouse is a chance to experience Cornwall at its most authentic and untamed.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
