Lithuania
Lithuania is situated on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, with approximately 262 kilometers of coastline that includes both the continental coast and the picturesque Curonian Spit. Although Lithuania's lighthouse network is smaller than those of its Baltic neighbors, each lighthouse holds immense cultural and historical value, symbolizing the nation’s deep-rooted connection with the sea.
Lithuania is home to seven lighthouses, spread across four municipalities: Klaipėda, Neringa, Palanga, and Šilutė. Of these, four are seacoast lighthouses—Nida, Juodkrantė, Klaipėda, and Šventoji. The remaining three are lagoon lighthouses: Pervalka, Ventės Ragas, and Uostadvaris, which guide vessels through the Curonian Lagoon and its waterways.
In recent years, Lithuania’s lighthouses have grown in popularity as both tourism destinations and historical landmarks. These structures not only continue to serve as vital aids to maritime navigation but also offer visitors opportunities to explore coastal history, admire stunning views, and appreciate their unique architecture. Some, like the iconic the Nida Lighthouse, are among the most popular attractions.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
