The World’s Lighthouse Connects the World
The European Route of Lighthouses (ERoL) is a community of European lighthouses dedicated to sharing knowledge, history, and coastal culture across national borders. ERoL also aims to encourage lighthouse owners to preserve and find sustainable future uses for these sites. Additionally, ERoL seeks to inspire the public to travel, experience lighthouses across borders, and visit these beautiful buildings in their spectacular locations. The goal is to become a cultural route under the auspices of the Council of Europe. This journey in the summer of 2026 will contribute to building community and achieving these objectives.
There will be exhibitions on board, lectures, and onshore activities at every stop along the route.

If you are in any way responsible for one or more lighthouses, you can contact us to have these lighthouses included on this website. The goal is to have as many lighthouses from all coastal nations in Europe placed on the map, so that many visitors can enjoy navigating the map or physically visiting the lighthouse stations.
