The European Route of Lighthouses held its General Assembly Meeting in the head office of Commissioners of Irish Lights in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland on October 6th 2025.

Representatives from member countries participated in discussions around lighthouse heritage and international collaboration.

This meeting served as a key annual event for the network, bringing together stakeholders from across the Irish Tourism network to meet with delegates of the European Route of Lighthouses.

In addition to the ERoL private members meeting, the event included a number of site visits such as the East Pier Lighthouse together with a presentation from Tim Ryan the Operations Manager of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Following this the group visited the National Maritime Museum of Ireland which was followed by a presentation from Gillian Binchy from Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority of Ireland, that supports the development and promotion of tourism within Ireland, and undertakes tourism marketing, training and research activities.

The GAM finished off with a social networking evening and an inspiring after dinner speech by Mark Spalding, President of the Ocean Foundation, USA whose mission is to improve global ocean health, climate resilience, and the blue economy.

Overall the GAM in Ireland was a great success, with superb venues, and engaging presentations with tailored content that heled develop ERoL’s ambition into a reality.
